A little bit about me

I was born in PEI and will FOREVER be an Island Girl! But, I also grew up in a military family and lived in over a dozen places by the time I was 21. I know how important it is to be able to turn any space into a place that feels like home. So, when I finished high school I headed right into Algonquin's program of Advanced Interior Design, graduating in 1990. I spent a number of years working as a designer for the Department of National Defence (guess I missed those kaki uniforms of my youth), full time CAD operator, consultant with Randall's Paints and an instructor with The Ottawa Carleton District School Board.

Since 2002, I have focused my attention on Paula-Lyn Interiors. PLI has allowed me to do exactly what I love. Connect with people and design spaces that feel like home. That's it, create a great experience with lasting results that people love.

My three favourite words from a client - "I LOVE IT!"

Completed a few years ago, this space is proof that great design doesn’t have an expiry date.

The classic beauty of chevron marble was gorgeous then — and it’s every bit as gorgeous now.

This bathroom once featured a drop-in tub and a closed-off shower. By opening up the space and combining mixed marble tiles with warm, light natural wood tones, we created the serene, spa-like retreat the homeowner envisioned.

We partnered with Canadian vendors to source all of the finishes for this space, creating a cohesive and beautifully layered look.

Good design doesn’t have to be hard to find — this vanity and matching medicine cabinet in warm Champagne wood tones from Vanico are still available today.
